How to join two rock nuts together to make a one long nut that can safely be loaded over an edge.
When placing a rock nut, sometimes the point at which you need to clip it happens to be right on the edge of a ledge or bulge of rock (very common when building a belay or on easier climbs). Obviously, if you do clip into this and then take a fall it is entirely likely that you will snap the spine of the carabiner on the rock.
Being able to join two rock nuts together to make one long one solves this problem very quickly.
